Two Phillips Students Named National Merit Scholars

Aidan Burt of Andover and Christina Y. Li of Haverhill won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarships.

ANDOVER, MA — Two Phillips Academy students were awarded National Merit Scholarships Wednesday, the Scholarship Corporation announced. Corporate-sponsored scholarship winners were announced Wednesday.

Aidan Burt of Andover and Christina Y. Li of Haverhill won National Merit Scholarships.

Burt won a National Merit Pfizer Inc. Scholarship. Burt's probable career field is neuroscience, according to the news release.

Li won a National Merit Schneider Electric North America Foundation Scholarship. Li's probable career field is computer science.

Both awards go to children of employees of the companies or their subsidiaries.

Around 1,000 high school seniors across the country won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards financed by about 140 corporations, company foundations, and other business organizations, the Scholarship Corporation said.
