Work Will Close Lanes, Ramp On I-495 In Andover

MassDOT is warning drivers of some interruptions and delays as overnight work gets underway.

(Renee Schiavone/Patch)

From the Massachusetts Department of Transportation: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that there will be overnight lane closures on I-495 north and southbound in the area of Exit 41 (Route 28) in Andover from 8 p.m., Friday, July 19 through 7:30 a.m., Saturday, July 20. Additionally, the on-ramp from Route 28 to I-495 northbound at Exit 41 will be closed during this time.

These traffic impacts are necessary in order to allow crews to safely and effectively conduct construction operations. A minimum of one lane of travel in each direction of I-495 will remain open at all times.

A detour route will be in place during the I-495 north on-ramp closure which will divert all traffic seeking to access this ramp onto I-495 south, to I-93 south, and then back onto I-495 north. These traffic impacts are associated with the ongoing construction operation on I-495 that will continue through September 2019.
