Yang's Collects Tasty Donation for Troops

Boxes of unwanted Halloween candy are making their way to bring smiles to soldiers' faces.

Yang's Fitness recently collected unwanted Halloween candy for our troops. And what a payload it was... 113 lbs. of candy!

The candy was shipped to California to Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends care packages to troops serving overseas.

"I was aware that there was a dentist in town who collects unwanted Halloween candy each year to send to the troops so when one of our personal trainers, Jamey Lachiana, asked if we could do that here, I said 'of course we can' so that's how this whole thing started," Diana Kiesel of Yang's said. "I did a little online research into organizations that accept candy to benefit the troops and found Operation Gratitude."

Yang's publicized their efforts through social media and the response was amazing. Four boxes of candy weighing a combined 113 lbs. was dropped off and sent to give our troops a sweet autumn surprise.

"Many donors commented that their children were more than happy to donate their candy to the troops," Kiesel said. "Needless to say, the parents were very appreciative of having this outlet, so we were more than happy to do it."
