YWCA Will Honor 22 Local Women at May 18 Fundraiser Luncheon in Andover

ANDOVER, MA — Twenty-two local women will be honored at the 34th annual YWCA of Greater Lawrence Tribute to Women awards luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. on May 18 at the Andover Country Club.

“This year’s honorees are indeed a remarkable group of women. All of them are empowered women—each in her own unique way,” said YWCA Executive Director Mary B. O’Brien.

Tribute to Women honors women, typically nominated by their peers or co-workers, who make outstanding contributions as role models in their profession, in their service to the community, or both.

“We are proud to honor 22 women who are role models for others and who exemplify the YWCA mission to empower women,” O'Brien said.

Tribute to Women is the YWCA’s signature fundraising event. All proceeds support YWCA programs and services in Greater Lawrence and across the Merrimack Valley and Essex County.

In recent years, the YWCA has expanded its prevention education program, bringing programs on dating relationships and violence prevention to Essex County high schools and college campuses.

All of these services are free and confidential, funded in part by proceeds from the event.

April 26 is the deadline to place ads in the Tribute to Women program booklet or to become a sponsor of the event.
