$446 in Stolen Meat Found in 'Keep Seaside Heights Clean' Truck

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department activity logs:
Friday, March 8
- Police were called to Cabot Street at 9:49 a.m. on report of two men arguing over snow removal.
- At 10:35 a.m. police were called to Elliott Street on report of a Comcast van that hit a vehicle.
- At 11:03 a.m. police were called to Stone Street on report of man 'yelling and out of control.' John Smith, 44, of 40R Stone St., was arrested on two warrant charges.
- An air conditioner and heating box was reported stolen on Rantoul Street at 2:34 p.m.
- At 6:35 p.m. police were called to West Dane Street on report of a couple arguing. Anibal Valentin, 47, of 40 West Dane St., on two warrant charges.Â

- A caller told police his/her car was being followed on Cabot Street at 12:04 a.m. The caller left the area before police arrived.
- At 12:32 a.m. police were called to the area of Rantoul and Federal Street on report of an intoxicated man walking in and out of traffic. The man, who told police he had thoughts of jumping in front of passing cars, was transported to the hospital.
- At 10:23 a.m. police responded to Odell Street on report of a domestic situation. Police arrested John Kelley, 81, of 91 Odell Ave., on charges of assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime.
- Police discovered a vehicle's rear window was smashed out on Rantoul Street at 11:07 a.m.
- Police were called to Stop and Shop on Enon Street at 11:17 a.m. on report of a shoplifter. Police recovered $446 in stolen meat from a red trash truck that had 'Keep Seaside Heights Clean' written on the side.Â
- Police were called to Cabot Street on report of a drunk man disturbing residents at 11:52 a.m. Police spoke to the man, who was highly intoxicated, and he was transported to the hospital.Â
- A fight in the street was reported on Cabot Street at 3:17 p.m. Police said the man on scene said he was assaulted by a man he did not know, and did not wish to press charges.
- A fight was reported at the Beverly Depot at 10:38 p.m.
Sunday, March 10
- A parked vehicle was reported struck at 3:22 a.m. on Rantoul Street.
- Police were called to Balch Street at 11:11 p.m. on report of a person singing loudly. He/she was told to quiet down.
- Items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Rantoul Street at 12 a.m. on Monday morning.
