1. Happy 2013! For many, today is back to reality--starting work and getting the kids back on the school bus. Here at Beverly Patch, we extend our warmest wishes for a great 2013 to our readers! 

2. Reconstructed: My Hands, Our History, an exhibition funded in part by a grant from the Beverly Cultural council will be on display from today through Jan. 27 at the Porter Mill Studios on Rantoul Street. The assemblage and installation display features the work of artists Brian Thomas and Sarah C. Rutherford.

3. Creative Writing: Throughout the month of January, Beverly Public Library will be hosting free creative writing workshops, where participants will explore various craft aspects of creative writing and the elements of fiction, including imagery, theme, characterization, plot, conflict, and setting. 4. Congratulations: For the second year in a row, Beverly High School has been recognized with the Apple Distinguished Program for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence for the BHS 1 to 1 Learning Program.
