5 Things To Know, Feb. 21: Harlem Shake Hits Beverly

Beverly Business Awards, Adopt-a-Beach program and more Beverly news tidbits.

Here are five things to start your day in Beverly:

1. You may have seen videos of the Harlem Shake on Youtube, and now, a Beverly liquor store has joined the crew. Depot Liquors posted their video to our Facebook page, and we think it's pretty cool. Check it out--and thanks Depot Liquors for sending it our way! 

2. Give Blood: Today at 9 a.m., The American Red Cross is hosting a Blood Drive at Beverly Hospital. The blood drive will be held in the Lecture Hall located inside the main entrance of the hospital.  To schedule an appointment, please all the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or go on-line at: redcrossblood.org(redcrossblood.org)   Walk-in guests are also welcome.

3. Need an activity for the kids? Drop the kids (ages six and up) off at the Wenham Museum for two hours of creativity, and bling-out a papier-mâché box with decoupage and glittery embellishments with art instructor Margaurita Spears. Check out more informatio here.

4. Tonight Barbara Warren, Executive Director of Salem Sound Coastwatch, will be at the Beverly Farms Branch Library to teach about our North Shore beaches--including the differentkinds of beaches, how water gets polluted, how to identify plant andmarine invasive species, how storms affect the beach, and more. Participants will be trained to be beachkeepers in the Adopt a Beachprogram. Beachkeepers clean up and monitor their favorite beachesyear-round. Free and open to all, even if you do not want to Adopt a Beach. RSVP requested. info@salemsound.org; 978-741-7900.
