Animation CEO Taylor K. Shaw to Speak at Montserrat College
Entrepreneur, Producer, and CEO of Black Women Animate to work with Montserrat Students!

BEVERLY - Montserrat College of Art Galleries welcomes Taylor K. Shaw to campus. Shaw is the youngest CEO in animation and one of the brightest game changers in Hollywood. She created Black Women Animate, the first and only production company designed to change the world of animation by providing women and nonbinary animators of color with the resources needed to be influencers in the industry.
Shaw is a visionary creator, writer, and activist tackling representation across the media landscape, one industry at a time. Shaw is a thought leader who has been featured in Forbes, Deadline Hollywood, Emmy Magazine, Teen Vogue, Elle, and more for empowering marginalized voices to control their own narratives and embrace their inner power. Madame Noire centered her in a documentary as one of the premiere “Millennials Making Moves.”
She has been invited by the world's leading media companies and top creatives to have a seat at the table. Her plan, however, is to own a new table and position other Black women and people of color powerfully within it.

Black Women Animate is the first and only production company designed to improve the representation of black women in animation. While creating her own animated series, Taylor wanted to employ a team of black women animators but quickly realized her search would be more challenging than expected. She joined forces with Creative and Activist JLove Calderón to create BWA, a chance to help black women, women of color, and nonbinary artists of color in the world of animation obtain visibility and job opportunities.
