Baker Signs Bill Granting Whole Foods Plaza Liquor License

The license is going to Lighthouse Liquor, swhich joins restaurant, pet store and a drive-through bank branch in the plaza.

BEVERLY, MA -- Gov. Charlie Baker signed a bill Sept. 12 that grants an additional liquor license to Beverly. The license will go to Lighthouse Liquors, which will be part of the Whole Foods plaza currently under construction on Brimbal Avenue. Rep. Jerald A. Parisella (D-Beverly) and Senator Joan Lovely (D-Salem) filed the joint legislation for the additional license in June.

The project broke ground in 2015 after a lengthy approval process. Residents had filed an appeal of the planning board's March 2015 decision to grant a special permit for the project. That appeal was eventually dropped.

In addition to Whole Foods and the liquor store, the developer has booked Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, Especially for Pets, North Shore Bank and Verizon.
