Beverly Business Uses Steak to Help Stop Diabetes

North Shore Meat House to team up with the American Diabetes Association later this month.

Beverly's North Shore Meat House will be supporting the American Diabetes Association through its cycling event, North Shore Tour de Cure, for a month beginning Saturday, March 23.

On its kickoff day, the Enon Street business will begin a 30-day fundraiser where shoppers can donate $1 to have a yellow cycling jersey with the donater's name on it, as well the opportunity to enter a raffle to win gift items from The North Shore Meat House's favorite local vendors, along with a gift certificate to The North Shore Meat House in Beverly, and a Tour de Cure cycling kit.

Also on March 23, the Tour de Cure will have a table in the store to get information about the ride taking place on Sunday, May 19 at the Topsfield Fairgrounds.

The American Diabetes Association describes the Meat House company as 'very involved when it comes to philanthropy and working with non-profits, and the Beverly location has a proven track record of their commitment to their community.'

“Our core values are to team up with local organizations and non-profits,” Gregory Kurkjian, marketing manager for the Beverly location, said in a release.
“We’re always making donations to schools, churches, and any organization in our area that needs it. It’s something we’re happy to do. Not only do they help give back to their community on a monetary level, they also help by sourcing about 60 percent of their products locally. They truly are the neighborhood butcher & grocer."

“I personally go out on my own time to farmer’s markets and that’s how I find the majority of my local vendors,” says Erika Frisby, General Manager of the Beverly location. “Our entire snack and dessert sections are supplied from local vendors. We carry breads that are baked and delivered fresh every day. It’s all about building great relationships, with our vendors, guests, and our employees.”

The raffle items will include products and gift certificates from local businesses and vendors. “Because we are very involved in the community the local businesses help us out, like donating products for the raffle,” Frisby adds.

Tuesday, April 23 will mark the end of the pin-up sale and the raffle. The winners of the raffle will be announced on their Facebook page, The North Shore Meat House, each hour on this day. Purchase some marinated steak tips, all flavors, on April 23 and The North Shore Meat House will donate $1 per pound to the North Shore Tour de Cure.
