Beverly Cancels July 4 Fireworks, Horribles Parade
Beverly Farms is expanding its annual house decorating contest to make up for the events lost to the coronavirus crisis.

BEVERLY, MA —A North Shore tradition that traces its roots back to the 1880s is the latest victim of the coronavirus crisis.
In a move that was expected, Farms-Pride Crossing said Friday it canceled its Fourth of July Horribles Parade and the fireworks on West Beach. "These events will be missed by all of us this summer, but the health and safety of the community is our highest concern," the organizing committee said in a statement.
The group plans to expand its annual house decorating contest by adding a category called "Horribles At Home."
