BEVERLY, MA — The following are the names of those who lived in or were from Beverly and who have passed away between Dec. 12 and Dec 19. They were sons and daughters and grandparents and brothers and sisters. Here we take a moment to remember them.

Neil Bradford Olson, age 88

Olson died Wednesday December 13 at Beverly Hospital. A graduate of Simmons College and Tufts University, he was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Marines, serving in both World War II and Korea. Olson was the director of Libraries of Salem State College for 30 years, and was a Trustee of Beverly Public library for 40 years. He was a member of the John Holmes poetry workshop in Cambridge, in the 1950s. His acquaintances included Maxine Kumin and Donald Hall. Neil published several chapbooks of poetry over his life, including “Death of a War Dog,” the title poem of which appeared in The Atlantic Monthly. He was a beloved member of his community, coaching Little League for a dozen years. Husband, son, father, brother.

Funeral service will be held at Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex Street, Beverly, MA on Sunday January 8, 2018 at 2 p.m.

Arlene C Badessa, 84

Badessa passed away on Dec. 13. No information yet available about her service.

Marion Teresa Badger, 88

Marion Teresa Badger died on December 16 in her home surrounded by her family. Marion was a resident of Beverly for the past 25 years and a devout parishioner at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea. She supported her husband Richard and his career with General Electric for 43 years, the family lived in Massachusetts, New York, Indiana, Ohio, and Europe before retiring to Massachusetts. Her love for her family was the source of her joy, as she thoughtfully and attentively advised, consoled, guided and championed each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in every aspect of their lives. In times of happiness as well as difficulty, Marion found strength in her faith. Marion’s grace in love is her legacy. Wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in the in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.

Elaine Patrinos,88

Patrinos passed away Dec. 16. Wife, Mother, friend. "Let's see how fast you can run in those red PF flyers!" known for her smile, her laugh and her kindness.

Visitation: Dec. 22 at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street. Funeral: December 23, at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church,8 Lafayette Road Ipswich.

Louise E. (Evitts) Killeen 95

Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend passed away December 18, at home surrounded by her family. Killeen had been employed for many years as a switchboard operator at Shawmut Bank in Boston until the time of her retirement. Prior to that she had worked for New England Telephone in Salem. A longtime resident of Beverly.

Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody, Friday, December 22, 2017 at 9 a.m.

Alfred T "Sonny" Commerford, 84

Commerford, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Beverly Hospital. Raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School. Commerford worked for many years as a machinist for Post Machinery in Beverly. He later worked for Tufts University and as a bartender at the Union Club in Beverly. A longtime resident of Beverly, he was a member of the Italian Community Center, the Franco-American Club, the Beverly Elks as well as the Union Club in Beverly. Alfred was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the Red Sox and Patriots. He also had a great love for Jazz music. Husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.

His funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
