Beverly Hours-Long Standoff Resolved Peacefully
Beverly police said they responded to a restraining order violation that resulted in the standoff on Lovett Street.
BEVERLY, MA — Beverly police said a disturbance on Lovett Street ended peacefully Wednesday afternoon after a two-hour standoff with a possibly armed suspect.
Beverly police said they responded to a report of a court-ordered restraining order about 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon and found a man barricading himself in the residence. Police requested assistance when they were told of a possibly armed suspect.
About two hours later, the suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken to Beverly Hospital.

Beverly police said the suspect will "face numerous charges upon being medically discharged."
