Beverly Man Runs Philadelphia Marathon for Alex's Lemonade Stand

Seth Goodling ran for Alex's Lemonade Stand in the Philadelphia Marathon last weekend.

Beverly resident Seth Goodling made strides in the fight against childhood cancer, raising money for Alex's Lemonade Stand in Philadelphia's Marathon, held on Nov. 18.

Goodling, a Beverly resident for the past ten years, was inspired by Alex's Lemonade Stand because of its simple message.

"Alexandra "Alex" Scott was battling childhood cancer and was putting lemonade stands in her front yard to raise money for cancer research," he explained. "The news of this escalated and when Alex passed away at eight-years-old, she had raised over a million dollars and the Foundation was born.  It's so simple to do and my own kids put up a lemonade stand this year to raise money for me."

"I ran the Philadelphia Marathon last year in an attempt to qualify for Boston," he explained. "This year I was approached by a friend that works at Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to run the marathon and help raise money for childhood cancer research."
