Beverly Meeting To Review Revised 2017 FEMA Flood Maps

The City of Beverly has been going through the revision process with FEMA to dispute the 2014 floodplain mapping.

BEVERLY, MA – Beverly's Department of Public Services and Engineering will hold a meeting to present the revised 2017 FEMA Flood Maps and new Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The meeting will be on June 22, at the Beverly Public Library in the Sohier Room, at 5 p.m.

The city has been going through the revision process to dispute the 2014 floodplain mapping, according to a letter sent to residents affected by the 2014 changes. The city's consultant reanalyzed the changes, and FEMA reviewed them and ultimately revised it again.

The meeting will also present findings from the Hazard Mitigation Plan Committee, which has been reviewing how different hazards – like flooding, heat waves, and winter storms – would affect public assets in the city. The presentation will include possible Capital Improvement Projects which can protect critical infrastructure from the effects of hazards.
