Beverly Pizzeria Closing After Four Decades On Cabot Street

Barbara Lazarides​ has been turning out pizzas on Cabot Street since 1979.

BEVERLY, MA -- Maria's Pizzeria on Cabot Street will close Oct. 13 after 39 years in business. The pizzeria posted a sign on its door and a message on its Facebook page announcing the closing.

"It is with much sadness to say as of October 13th Maria's will be closing its doors," the note said. "We thank you all for your patronage and friendship these past 39 years. It has been our pleasure to serve you and you will be missed."

Maria's owner Barbara Lazarides was not immediately available for comment Monday morning. Lazarides started the restaurant in 1979, according to Maria's Website.
