Proper disposal of unwanted and expired medications is necessary to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands where they can be sold or abuses. It is not recommended that old medications be thrown out in the trash or flushed down the toilet because of the possibility they could get into groundwater.

Those who missed Saturday's event, but still have items to drop off, can do so in the drop box in the Beverly Police Department lobby. Those who cannot make it to the station can arrange for police to pick up the medications at disposal@beverlyma.gov or 978-921-6040 Ext. 2533.
