Beverly Police Arrest Pair on Drug Charges

The following information was submitted by the Beverly Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.


The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department's log: 

Tuesday, May 13: 

  • At 4:32 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity near the intersection of Andover and Exeter roads.
  • At 4:54 p.m., police responded to a report of wires down on Hilltop Drive.
  • At 7:18 p.m., police responded to a report of glass in the road near the intersection of Conant Street and Ellsworth Avenue.
  • At 8:43 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Sohier Road. Jeffrey J. Gonsalves, 52, of 339 Moraine St., Marshfield, was arrested on charges of possessing a class B substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate a drug law. Nukindra S. Quarles, 36, of the streets of Beverly, was arrested on a charge of possessing a class B substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute.
  • At 8:47 p.m., police responded to an alarm at the intersection of Park and Pleasant streets.
  • At 9:30 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Thissell Street.
  • At 9:34 p.m., police responded to a complaint about men on the railroad tracks on Elliott Street.

Wednesday, May 14: 

  • At 1:59 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Cabot Street.
  • At 2:10 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Bridge Street.
  • At 3:24 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Henderson Road.
  • At 6:20 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Cumming Center Drive.
  • At 7:42 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Story Avenue.
  • At 9:39 a.m., police attempted to serve a warrant on Access Road.
  • At 11:19 a.m., police responded to a reported hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Sohier Road.
  • At 1:09 p.m., police responded to a possible domestic dispute on Rantoul Street.
  • At 5:15 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Cabot Street.
  • At 7:14 p.m., police responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Cabot and Federal streets.
  • At 7:24 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Medford Street.
  • At 9:37 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Dodge Street.
  • At 10:18 p.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on Dodge Street. Lisa D. Bell, 40, of 9 Lakeside Drive, Beverly was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Thursday, May 15:

  • At 1:07 a.m., police dispersed a group of kids on West Dane Street.
  • At 2:55 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Rantoul Street.
  • At 4:42 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Rantoul Street.
  • At 9:17 a.m., police made an arrest at the intersection of Elliott and Rantoul streets. Michael C. Bradley, 38, of 34 Broad St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a class C substance, resisting arrest, and for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 3:14 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Simon Street.
  • At 3:39 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Kittredge Street.
  • At 4:03 p.m., police responded to a report of girls fighting on Grant Street.
Other Arrests

Derik S. Bates, 44, of 91 Cabot St., Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Hung V. Dinh, 47, of 33 Grant St., Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Daniel R. Ciman, 30, of 139 East St., Middleton, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
