Beverly Police Make Heroin Bust, Arrest 2

Beverly Police arrested two after an undercover investigation on Tuesday.

BEVERLY, MA – After an undercover investigation led to a brief car chase on Tuesday, Beverly Police arrested two suspects on heroin charges.

Aneudy Cleto, 21, of Lynn, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and resisting arrest. Virgilio Garcia-Deoleo, 32, of Lynn, was arrested on charges of distributing heroin, resisting arrest, failure to stop for police, and witness intimidation.

Undercover officers bought heroin, according to a statement from Beverly Police, and Cleto and Garcia-Deoleo tried to flee after spotting police in the area. After a brief car chase, and a struggle, officers arrested Cleto and Garcia-Deoleo. Garcia-Deoleo possibly ingested heroin during the pursuit, according to police.

Police seized possible drug proceeds, and two cell phones. Detective Sgt. Mike Cassola, Detectives Tom Nolan and Josh Pickett, Officer Justin Zwicker, and Ipswich Police Detective Ted Gallivan investigated the case.
