Beverly Police Officer Who Died Unexpectedly Identified
Funeral services and a fundraiser for the family of Detective Joshua Pickett, who died at home on Sept. 7, have been announced.

BEVERLY, MA — The Beverly police officer who died unexpectedly at home on Sept. 7 was Joshua Pickett. Pickett, 42, was a detective with the department and is survived by his wife Nancy, their sons Josiah and Wyatt, and their daughters Delaney and Evangeline. Pickett joined Beverly police in 2007 after eight years in the Army and Army reserves and nine years in the Navy.
Visitation will be at the Campbell Funeral Home at 525 Cabot Street in Beverly, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene at 556 Cabot Street in Beverly.

"The Beverly Police Department appreciate the out pouring of support from those in the community that heard about our loss," Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur said in a Sept. 9 statement. "Please pray for the officer, his family, and all of the members of the Beverly Police and law enforcement community as we grieve his loss."
