Beverly/Salem Elks Award Local Scholarships

The Beverly/Salem Elks Post 1309 awarded their 3 local scholarships to students from the North Shore.

Last night at the Beverly/Salem Elks Lodge 1309 located at 39 Bow St in Beverly MA they awarded their yearly scholarships to 3 deserving students from the Beverly/Salem Area. The three recipients all stride to succeed in their respective careers and are all looking forward to continuing on into the next step in their schooling journey. The three receipts who were awarded scholarships are listed below along with where they plan on attending college in the fall.

Rachel Allen Graduated Beverly High School last week and was awarded this scholarship based on here community service and academic achievements. She was a Volunteer at Miracle Baseball League of the North Shore, was awarded the President's award for Education Achievement and also was a star in Track & Field and Lacrosse. She plans on attending Salem Statue University in the fall.

Caroline Sirois Graduated from Essex Technical High School last week and was also awarded this scholarship based on her academic achievements and her community involvement. She was recently accepted into the National Honor Society & the National Technical Honor Society. She is a long associations with Camp Fire of the North Shore and participates in Color Guard. Caroline plans on attaining Johnson and Wales this fall with a major in Pastry Arts.

Steve Hallinan Graduated from Beverly High School last week and was a star on and off the ice for the Beverly Panthers. He participated in 4 years of Ice Hockey at Beverly with 2 of those years being captain. He was also a 4 year member of the Honor Roll while attending classes. He has numerous community service/volunteer opportunities including "Pink the Rink" night which benefited Breast Cancer Research on the North Shore. Steve plans on attending either University of New Hampshire or University of Maine with a major in Physical Therapy this fall.
