At WPI, all undergraduates are required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that applies science and technology to addresses an important societal need or issue. Nearly 90 percent of students typically complete a project in collaboration with partners in communities across the country and around the world, through the university's 50-plus project centers.
Students usually travel to the project center for seven-week terms. This fall, however, due to the global coronavirus pandemic, they worked remotely, using video conferencing and other technology to complete their projects.

"The WPI project-based curriculum's focus on global studies brings students out of their comfort zones to apply their knowledge to solve real problems for people in communities around the globe," Professor Kent Rissmiller, interim dean of the WPI Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Division, said. "Students have the opportunity to learn about a different culture, from the way people live and work to the values they hold to the foods they eat — all valuable perspectives for surviving and thriving in today's global marketplace."
The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade-point average. Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the "A" level in courses and projects.
Fabry, class of 2022, majoring in mathematical sciences, Noel, class of 2021, majoring in chemistry and Pothier, class of 2022, majoring in mechanical engineering, earned the honor.
Tori Vivenzio, of Beverly, was named to the President's List at Bentley University.
The President's List is the highest distinction Bentley confers for academic excellence in a single semester. Students must achieve a 3.7 grade-point average with no grade below 3.0 to make the list.
Matthew Burgess, of Beverly, class of 2022, and Kaili Guyer, of Beverly, class of 2022, qualified for the Dean's List at Stonehill. Each had a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or better and completed all courses for which they were registered.

Students in the second 10 percent of each class earn honors. Students in the third 10 percdent of each class are placed on the head of school's list.
Kelly Blundin, Josh Klee and Olivia Robinson were named to the high honors list, Ella Greenfield and Rick Li to the honors list and Shawn Li to the head of school's list.
