Beverly Will Launch New Downtown Parking Kiosks Nov. 1

The new system includes free parking for the first 20 minutes and the ability to pay with a smartphone app.

BEVERLY, MA -- Beverly will unveil its new, long-awaited downtown parking system next week. The system, which includes new payment kiosks and the option of paying with a smartphone app, launches Nov. 1. Officials hope the system will make it easier for downtown visitors to find and pay for parking.

The new plan includes the removal of all parking meters, as well as free, downtown parking for the first 20 minutes. After the free 20 minutes, parking will range from 25 cents per hour in municipal parking lots to 75 cents per hour for on-street parking on Rantoul and Cabot Streets.

Parking will be enforced between 8 am and 8 pm. Drivers will need to know their license plate number to enter it into the kiosk or app. Permits are available for downtown residents and businesses.
