Beverly's Cummings Center Could Be Puppy's Home Away From Home

Beverly's Cummings Center has a recently expanded holistic care veterinarian office and an expanded doggie daycare.

While your little buddy liked it when you worked from home all day, he might be less thrilled being left home alone now that you're back in the office. Beverly's Four Leggers Doggie Daycare at Cummings Park is expanding for the times.

BEVERLY, MA —The demand for dogs — and, sure, cats — was unprecedented during the coronavirus health crisis.

Unable to see friends and relatives, and working from home, many individuals and families turned to a new little buddy or kitty cat to fill up their days and bring some energy and excitement to their lives. The phenomenon was so great in New England that animal shelters began shipping in potential pets from other parts of the country so they would have a better chance of finding their forever homes.

But now it's 15 months later and perhaps time to go back to the office eight hours a day.

Both Beverly Animal Natural Health Center and Four Leggers Doggie Daycare continued to expand their footprints at the North Shore business campus during the pandemic.

BANHC is a holistic veterinary practice for dogs and cats that focuses on general wellness over simply treating illness. BANHC takes into account the physical and social activity levels of pets.

BANHC has grown in recent years from its 2,100 square-foot space in 2017 and now occupies 4,200 square feet, while serving families from all over the North Shore.

"We expanded just before the pandemic hit, and have continued to grow both our patient base and our team ever since," said BANHC founder Dr. Nancy Crowley. "Business is booming, and I'm certainly not complaining."

North Shore residents looking to get their puppy some serious socializing time can do so at Four Leggers Doggie Daycare. Opening as a grooming facility in 2012, it has expanded its services to include dog sitting, boarding, training and walking, as well as dog hikes, puppy training classes and pet supplies.

Four Leggers Doggie Daycare underwent a 2,000 square-foot expansion during the pandemic and now includes more than 8,500 square feet in space, including a sizeable outdoor play area.

"BANHC and Four Leggers are just two examples of the hundreds of on-campus service providers that make Cummings Center a convenient destination for one-stop-shopping," Cummings Center associate general manager Stephanie Aitchison.

Cummings Properties' Beverly includes the 2 million-square-foot Cummings Center office and research park and the 54-acre Dunham Ridge business and technology center.
