Cabot To Host Beverly 'Community Conversation' On Social Change

BEVERLY, MA — As events return indoors to the historic Cabot Street Cinema, the theater will also host a series of "Community Conversations" on issues affecting Beverly residents.

The Cabot, which screened "Jaws" screenings Memorial Day weekend in its first live-audience event inside the theater since the onset of the coronavirus health crisis 15 months ago, is also inviting speakers to hold free, public forums on issues important to Beverly residents.

The events are intended to promote more equity and justice in their workplace and community.

The first of the in-person conversations will be June 10 entitled "How You Can Be An Ally for Social Change" where author Di Ciruolo will lead a conversation alongside the city's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director Abu Toppin discussing Ciruolo's book: "The Definitive Guide to Building More Inclusive, Innovative and Productive Teams."

"Now we are able to be open again and we can have folks in the theater, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to broaden the range of programming we offer here at The Cabot to include more discussion and conversation around important issues," said Casey Soward, Executive Director of The Cabot.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase in the lobby with a signing opportunity after the event.

More Community Conversations are planned for the fall.
