The National Weather Service's reports from all over Essex County.

Municipalities reported whiteout conditions. Marblehead Police urged people to stay off the road, noting that the snow falling and blowing around has reduced visibility to a few hundred feet, and traffic on Route 128 north in Peabody was slowed due to disabled vehicles.
The National Weather Service reported that snow was expected to stop Thursday night, but the bulk of the snow was expected to fall Thursday afternoon into the evening. Snow was supposed to stop on the North Shore by 10 p.m., according to this forecast.
