BEVERLY, MA – The National Weather Service of Boston is watching closely to see if the Boston area breaks any more warmth records on Thursday. According to the monitoring station at Beverly Airport, the area is experiencing a balmy 60 degrees: A stark contrast to the snowfall seen on Saturday.
In Worcester, it hasn't been this warm in January since 1980, according to the NWS. In Boston, the record high for today is 61 degrees, which has already tied with today. The latest reading as of 12:30 p.m. was 61 degrees.
Boston has now tied the record of 61 degrees set in 1975 and 1913.

Needless to say, most of the snow Essex County saw on Saturday has melted. Despite the comfortable weather on Thursday, the temperature is expected to drop as soon as Thursday night, and stay that way. Friday night could get down to 14 degrees.
