Facade Program Gives a Facelift to Downtown Beverly

Downtown Beverly is getting a facelift through a program that helps local businesses spruce up their storefronts.

A new program that provides funds to downtown Beverly businesses is helping improve the overall image of the commercial district, according to an article on Boston.com.

The program is being funded through the city and managed by the city's improvement organization, Beverly Main Streets.

“We had to seek out people and say we have this money, it’s a great incentive, and it’s free,” said Gin Wallace.

While nine businesses received grants up to $5,000 to make improvements to their storefronts, roughly 20 businesses overall have taken advantage of the program over the past five years.
