Former Beverly Rocker Releases Album
Rock n' roller Barry Whitfield played Beverly back in the 1980s and he's still around and kicking.

Barrence Whitfield started out playing Grovers Nightclub in Beverly where he would dish out his R&B music to the locals, according to an article on Boston.com.
The Globe recently caught up with Whitfield outside a Beverly block party and talked to him about his newest album, “Dig Thy Savage Soul,” which he partnered with guitarist Peter Greenberg to create and which comes out on Tuesday.
Since playing in Beverly, he's played around the globe. He talked about one recent concert in Dubai.
"I was jumping on the tables in front of the sheiks,” said Whitfield. “It just goes to show that rock ’n’ roll is everywhere.”
