Guitarist Nils Lofgren coming to The Cabot September 22nd!
The great musician will entertain the local crowd in the coming weeks.

Beverly, MA--The powerful, emotion-grabbing guitarist/vocalist NILS LOFGREN, who
was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 as an
E-Street Band member, will perform at The Cabot on Saturday, September
22 at 8 pm. Tickets for this show are available now at TheCabot.org. The
Cabot is located at 286 Cabot Street in the heart of downtown Beverly,
Massachusetts. For more information, call: 978.927.3100 or email: info@thecabot.org.
Nils Lofgren has been perhaps
best known as the lead guitarist for Springsteen's E-Street Band--he's
the guy who replaced Steven Van Zandt in 1984 and stayed with Bruce ever
since. Prior to the E-Street Band, Lofgren was a member of Neil Young's
backing band, Crazy Horse. BUT, Nils has also always had his own
extensive musical career as well--with more than 20 albums released over
the years with his own bands and featuring his own music.

Now, Springsteen on Broadway has given Lofgren the
time and the rare opportunity to do what he loves to do when not
performing with the E Street Band . . . and that is to go back to his
own music, his extraordinary songwriting and solo performing roots and
connect with his fans on a more intimate level.

Nils Lofgren - "Keith Don't Go"
Celebrating 50 years on the road, Nils just returned from a 15 date UK run (after fitting in a few dates with Neil Young's Crazy Horse) and he is
now also putting the finishing touches on a new solo album to be
released in early 2019. A monumental career spanning Lofgren nine-CD and
one DVD boxed set titled Face the Music was released by Fantasy / Concord in 2014.
The boxed set's 136 page, beautifully
illustrated story, personally written by Nils, includes many comments
from his admirers. Here are a few:
"In 1975 Nils' first solo album was a template for the sound and attitude Jon Landau and I hoped to accomplish on Born To Run. Nils' singing and guitar playing voice remains as distinctive today as it's ever been." - Bruce Springsteen
"Nils Lofgren is genuinely one of my favourite musicians, he is an
exquisite and sinuous guitarist, a gentleman accordionist, a
terpsichorean in tap shoes and a fearless somersaulting gymnast of the
trampoline!!!! Always inspiring, and ever inspired, such is genius!" - Sting
"I am so glad that my old friend Nils has made this boxed
set. Listening to him play and sing has been an inspiration to me for
many years." - Neil Young
Nils is heading out on the road in the Northeast U.S. for a
rare tour this September--stopping at several New England area venues,
including The Cabot in Beverly. Joining Nils on stage is multi-instrumentalist Greg Varlotta, who helps Nils bring to life an amazing catalog of a lifetime of music.
Lofgren's live performances include some one-of-a-kind
storytelling from an amazing career alongside his guitar work which
garners high praise. Will Hermes, in Rolling Stone, proclaimed that "there are 'musician's musicians,' and there's Nils Lofgren."
Nils says "I'm so looking forward to this run of shows in the Northeast. It's been a long time coming and my lovely
wife Amy and I are thrilled to get back to the U.S. audiences to help
commemorate 50 years on the road! The live audience has been my
lifeblood and inspiration all these wonderful, musical years. I'm
grateful to all the fans who continue to share this journey with us."
In 2015, Nils was honored with the "Outstanding Contribution Award" at the Classic Rock Awards held
in London (joining the esteemed company of previous winners who have
included fellow Rock Hall of Famers Jeff Beck, Ronnie Wood and John Paul
Jones). He was also recently inducted into the Arizona Music and
Entertainment Hall of Fame, Arizona being where he currently resides
with his wife Amy.
