It's Time To Take A Shot!
The Beverly/Salem Elks to hold their annual Hoop Shoot Free Throw contest this weekend!

On Sunday January 13th, 2019 the Beverly/Salem Lodge of Elks will hold their annual Hoop Shoot Free Throw competition. This event is held every year and is open to kids of from 8-13. This year’s event will be held at the Beverly School for the Deaf on Echo Ave in Beverly. This event is produced to help the kids develop Grit which is an indicator of future achievement developed by psychologist Angela Duckworth. For nearly a half century, the Hoop Shoot has been developing gritty kids through a friendly, free and fun free-throw competition.
The event is open to all children in Beverly/Salem Aged 8 and over as of 4/1/19. The event will start at 9:00 am for children aged 12-13 & then 11:00 am for ages 8-9 followed by a 1:00 pm start for kids 10-11. This is a fun event held every year and the winners of this competition will then have a chance to participate at the Massachusetts Hoop Shoot finals for a chance to go to the National competition in Chicago this April.
