James Taylor, Paula Cole To Headline Cabot Theater's 100th Bash

BEVERLY, MA — The Cabot Street Cinema Theater announced two big additions to its ambitious 100th anniversary bash with James Taylor and Paula Cole added to the lineup of the historic theater's remote birthday party.

"Lights. Camera. Cabot 100 Celebration" will be held on Dec. 3 as the theater — which has been shut down for live events since the onset of the coronavirus health crisis in March — looks to honor its past, unveil a new lobby and deliver the promise of another revival in 2021.

"This will be something we always remember where we took advantage of this moment to be creative and collaborate with our friends to make something special happen," Cabot Theater Executive Director J. Casey Soward told Patch last week. "We are doing a lot of work to make sure we are there and are part of this healing that will need to take place."

The event will feature more than a dozen artists filmed both on location and from a closed set within the theater streamed for free to all those who register.

The centennial program will pay homage to the five founders who brought The Cabot back to lif in 2014 after it had been for sale for over a year: Henry Bertolon, Bill Howard, Rich Marino, Thad Siemasko, and Paul Van Ness.

Attendees will have the option to purchase a specialty cocktail kit to be delivered to their home to raise a glass in celebration. Each cocktail kit has been named after one of the founders and includes both ingredients and glassware. A mocktail offering will also be available.
