"Beier saw the number on his caller ID and this upset him," Costa said. "He responded with several threatening phone calls, including telling the victim he was going to come down to the office and 'knock his head off with a bat.'"
Costa said police are unsure why the victim was specifically targeted, but Beier did walk through the office, which he was familiar, past several other employees and walked up the the victim and said, "Are you (victim's name)?" before he attacked him.Â
