MBTA Parking Fee Hike Eases Congestion In Beverly
An increase to $4 from $2 has eased the parking crunch at the MBTA garage in Beverly.

BEVERLY, MA — The MBTA's Jan. 1 parking fee increase at its garage in Beverly has eased parking congestion at the facility. The transit agency increased parking fees to $4 from $2. According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, there is anecdotal evidence that the increase has made it easier for commuters to find a spot in the 494-spot garage.
The MBTA implemented the fee increase to reduce demand. The MBTA had charged $5 for parking at the garage when it opened in 2014 but dropped the fee to $2 in September 2018 when the garage was typically only half full on weekdays.
