New App Will Allow Beverly Residents to Report City Issues

See Something? Soon you'll be able to say something from your mobile device

BEVERLY – A new smart phone app will allow Beverly residents to report issues directly to City Hall, Wicked Local reports.

Waterbury, Connecticut-based Qscend technologies recently inked a deal with the city to use its "Q-Alert" app. The free app is offered on both Android and iOS devices.

Using the app on either a cell phone or tablet device, or directly through the city's website, residents will be allowed to report fires and issues with roads, trash, and snow removal. As soon as a report is filed, the user will be alerted that a request has been sent and appropriate personnel will be sent to take care of the issue.

It will take about a month and a half to train city workers how to use the app, before the product launches. No official date for the launch has been announced.

Everett, Haverhill, Somerville, and Weymouth already have the Q-Alert app in place.
