Obituary: Steve E. Kaylor, 59, 'Godfather of Beverly Lacrosse'
Co-founder of Beverly Youth Lacrosse. He coached Beverly High School and youth football and lacrosse for over 30 years.

Steve E. Kaylor, 59, beloved husband of Kathleen (O’Reilly) Kaylor, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 6th at Beverly Hospital. Born in Haverhill, he is the son of the late Thomas E. and Sylvia (Hanscome) Kaylor.
Steve grew up in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1974. With his sons, Steve owned and operated his own fire protection and air duct cleaning business, Freeman Air.

Steve was very active in Beverly sports, co-founding Beverly Youth Lacrosse. He coached High School and Youth football and lacrosse for over 30 years. And in 2003, he was deemed the “Godfather of Beverly Lacrosse.” Steve’s life revolved around supporting his family and friends, always putting the needs of others ahead of his own. He was a wise, driven, passionate, others-focused, and generous man that leaves behind his loving family and many friends.
In addition to his with Kathy, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage, he is survived by four sons: Thomas Kaylor and his wife Sharon, Steven, Kevin and Jeffrey Kaylor all of Beverly; three grandchildren: Shannon, Shargaile, and Shaila; one brother: Mike Kaylor of Maryland, two sisters: Kelly Dunlevy of South Carolina, Kathy Kaylor of Virginia; In-Laws: Patty and Dave Savageau, Eddie and Rachel O’Reilly, Debbie and Anthony Kline, Maureen and Glen Rawding and Sheila and John McCarthy; nieces and nephews: David, Brian, Quentin, Jack, Jordan, Matthew, Reilly, Eddie, Meghan, Larry, Jack, Thomas, Bao, Anh, Shelly, Koryl, Gary, Patrick, Thomas, Katie, and Krystal. He is predeceased by two brothers: Pat and Timmy Kaylor.

Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday, July 10, from 4 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
