'Point of Sale' Art Exhibit This Thursday

An exhibit featuring 'commercial' works of art at 17 Cox Art Gallery will culminate in a musical performance this Thursday.

The art gallery at 17 Cox Court, simply called 17 Cox has been featuring an exhibit called "Point of Sale: Methods of Vending Identity."

The exhibit is intended to feature works of art that embody a unique identity in the form of commercial packaging or vending, so to speak. Here's what the gallery has to say in a Patch event.

"The group exhibition Point of Sale upsets the conventions of a commercial gallery into a retail mart of personal identities.  The artists in the exhibition all vend some form of identity, whether their own personal identity or someone else's, in commercial packaging or vending machines."
