Police Called for Dog Feces Lit on Fire on Meeting Place Circle

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department:

Sunday, Dec. 30

  • Two men were reported fighting on West Dane Street at 12:31 a.m. When police arrived they had left the scene.
  • Christmas lights and decorations were reported stolen on Everett Street at 1:36 a.m.
  • Police were called to the area of Rantoul and Summer Street on report of two seven-year-old girls walking on the street at 3:28 a.m. Police searched the area but did not locate them. 
  • An individual was reported causing a disturbance, banging on the door to the White Whale at 5:58 p.m. The woman was transported to the hospital. 
  • A bag of dog feces was reported lit on fire on a porch on Meeting Place Circle at 8:17 p.m. Police went to the scene but did not find the bag in question. 
  • Police were called to Federal Street on report of a loud argument at 11:13 p.m. Police reports stated the fight was between a brother and sister over cigarettes.

  • Police were made aware of items stolen from a New Balch Street residence in May 2012 at 12:27 p.m.
  • At 2:10 p.m. police arrested David Lovasco, 52, of 11 Pratt Avenue, on warrant charges.
  • Police were called to Rantoul Street on report of threats to a Verizon employee at 5:56 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

  • Police and fire were called to a bonfine at 12:07 a.m. on Shortell Avenue.
  • At 12:34 a.m. police were called for a suspicious man in the Elliott Street and Dock Lane area. Police arrested Joseph McDonald, 18, of 23 Odell Ave., on charges of breaking and entering for a misdemeaner and possession of alcohol under 21.
  • Police were called to Hathaway Avenue at 1:39 a.m. on report of 'people cutting down trees.' Police went to the scene but no one was in the area.
  • A physical fight was reported on Highland Avenue at 2:43 a.m. They left the scene before police arrived.
  • Police were called to Rantoul Street on report of someone ringing the doorbell to a residence repeatedly. Police sent the person on his way.
  • Items were reported stolen from a Federal Street apartment at 2:16 p.m.
  • A purse was reported stolen at a party on Clipper Way at 2:48 p.m.
  • Police responded to Beaver Pond Road at 8:13 p.m. on report of a female being held against her will. The woman stated she had met the men who lived at Beaver Pond Road the previous night and she and a friend had returned to his house, but he was refusing to give her a ride home. Police attempted to speak to him, but he locked the door and refused to answer. The woman got a ride home from a friend.
