Police Investigate Student Report of Gun In Home

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department:
Wednesday, Dec. 12
- A fight was reported at Beverly High at 8:36 a.m.
- At 2:40 p.m. police were called to Beverly High School on report of three intoxicated female students. Police said at this time no chages will be issued and the situation will be handled at the school level.Â
- At 11:58 p.m. police arrested Jessica Manock, 23, of 8 Page St. in Danvers, on charges of distribution of a class d drug, operating a vehicle without a license, and warrant charges.Â

- At 3:42 a.m. police and fire were called to Sohier Road and Charles Street on report of heavy smoke in the area. Reports stated there was no basis for the call; they searched the area but it was negative.Â
- Police were called to Story Avenue at 4:17 p.m. following up on an investigation where a child reportedly told school staff that his/her mom's boyfriend 'had a black gun under the chair in the living room.' Police spoke to the couple, who showed police the bb gun, that was in the living room, but was usually kept locked in the bedroom. Police advised them to lock it away and keep it from the children.Â
- Police were called to Rantoul Street at 10:38 p.m. on report of a homeless person sleeping in the doorway. Police sent him on his way.Â
Friday, Dec. 15
- Police were called to Beverly Commons Drive at 1:34 a.m. on report of loud banging. Police spoke to the person in question, who told them he had knocked over some cans, and would be quieter.Â
- A vehicle was reported stolen from Herrick Street at 7:48 a.m.
- At 8:46 a.m. police were called to Beverly High School on report of a simple assault. Reports stated a student threw an item at another student.Â
- At 9:31 a.m. police arrested Michael Howard, 18, of 22 Blaine Ave., on warrant charges.Â
- A car break-in was reported on Orchard Street at 10:20 a.m.Â
- Police were called to Kennell Hill Drive at 3:34 p.m. on report of a man in a white van following a child.Â
