Police Searching for Duo Who Stole Purse at Stop & Shop

Beverly police are searching for two individuals who were caught on survelliance cameras taking a purse from a shopping cart at Stop and Shop Wednesday afternoon.

Police spokesman Mike Boccuzzi said at about 12:25 p.m., police were called to the Elliott Street Stop & Shop on report of a woman who had left her blue Coach purse in the shopping cart after leaving the store.

The female told police she had returned to the store approximately 15 minutes later and found that the purse had been stolen.

Officers were able to obtain security footage, and saw that two individuals had left the store with the purse.
