RECAP: Angie Miller's 'I Surrender' Wows Judges

The Beverly High graduate will face elimination with her fellow Idol finalists tonight.

Angie Miller channelled the country's first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, with her rendition of Celine Dion's "I Surrender" last night on American Idol--and there was no doubt the judges were impressed.

"You're such an artist," judge Keith Urban told Miller following her performance, of which he gave a standing ovation.

Mariah Carey said a simple "stellar," while Nicki Minaj said she "couldn't critique on anything." Seasoned judge Randy Jackson said Miller's performance was the first one he enjoyed during the evening.

And  tough critics here in Miller's hometown enjoyed the performance, too.

  • @BeverlyPanthers: "@AngieAI12 killed it again. Awesome."
  • @Macs_Wax: "Wow! I'm not an "American Idol" watcher, but I am now, since ANGIE MILLER @AngisAI12 is from my hometown of Beverly, MA. Go Angie!"

Tonight one Idol hopeful will be eliminated from the show, which begins at 8 p.m. on Fox. The finalists will also perform their first group number and guest performers Phillip Phillips and Bon Jovi will make an appearance, according to Wet Paint.
