BEVERLY, MA — Frank McClelland, the Essex resident and chef who owned and operated Boston's L'Espalier for 30 years before announcing its closure in December 2018, opened Frank in November. The restaurant, bar and market is located in the Holmes Beverly apartment building on Rantoul Street in Beverly, across from the commuter rail station. The new business offers prepared foods and fast-casual dining options. McClelland said the restaurant is focused on being farmer-friendly and will offer seasonal menu items.

"At Frank, we are steadfast in our commitment to regional farmers and purveyors," McClelland said. "By growing what we eat we are reducing the carbon footprint, by supporting local businesses we are nourishing our community and by eating wholesome food we are sustaining our health and wellness."

In addition to menu items like crispy roasted chicken for two, whole roasted duck, cauliflower mac & cheese and the FRANK burger, the restaurant has a bar serving locally sourced beer and wine, along with seasonal craft cocktails. The market has breakfast items and the space features a 130-seat dining room.

At the time, McClelland said he was closing because the lease was up and he had a new project in mind, but declined to offer specifics on those plans.
