River House Thanks Community With Thanksgiving Breakfast

River House, Beverly's homeless shelter for men, will host a free Breakfast of Thanksgiving as the shelter gives thanks to the community for its support on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Italian Community Center. 

The morning will include breakfast prepared by the Rotondo brothers of Cafe Salerno, remarks from former River House guests about their journey back from homelessness, and music from River House guests. 

The event will also honor Senator Frederick E. Berry, Harborlight Community Partners, and volunteer Deb Ploszay for 'their staunch support,' of the River House project. 

The shelter closed temporarily in the spring, but thanks to broad community support, reopened at the beginning of October. River House provides homeless individuals with temporary shelter and the opportunity to work in partnership with staff and the community to find stable income, adequate health care, and permanent homes. Since the reopening, River House has provided shelter to more than 30 homeless men. 

Reservations are requested. The breakfast is free, and guests will have a chance to make a donation that will be matched dollar for dollar to help homeless men return to lives of self-sufficiency.
