BEVERLY, MA — Those who take Essex Street are advised to find another way to get across the city this week as "significant delays" are expected Wednesday and Thursday due to road work.

Beverly police urged drivers to "please avoid the area if you can" and allow yourself extra travel time.

Road surface milling in preparation will begin on Essex Street between Route 128 and Groce Street on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. and continue through 5 p.m.
