Route 128 Highway Closure Scheduled In Beverly, Danvers
Route 128 northbound and southbound will be shut down overnight early Wednesday morning with temporary lane closures throughout night.
BEVERLY, MA — Those traveling Route 128 northbound and southbound in the Beverly and Danvers stretch will encounter lane closures and a brief, full shutdown of the highway Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
The state Department of Transportation will close lanes from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday between the Dodge Street and Conant Street Industrial Park exits. State Police will also implement a full shutdown of the highway for approximately 15 minutes at 1 a.m. both northbound and southbound.
At least one lane will be open in both directions the rest of the night.

The closures are so crews can put in place a new overhead sign structure as part of a $5.5 million expansion of MassDot's Intelligent Transportation System.
MassDOT is advising travelers to seek alternate routes, reduce speed and use caution while approaching the stretch at these times.
