Suspicious knocking turns out to be a food delivery, mystery cigarette butts, and more from the Beverly Police log.

  • Police responded to a report of someone who was punched in the face on Cabot Street last Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. The victim wouldn't identify the assailant to officers.
  • Officers dispersed a group smoking pot on Ocean Street last Wednesday around midnight.
  • Jodi Amor, 37, of Danvers, was arrested on charges of shoplifting last Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. after police responded to an Elliott Street store.
  • Harold Frank Bennett, 56, of Danvers, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct after police responded to an incident on the Beverly/Salem bridge last Wednesday around 7 p.m.
  • Shawn Dudley, 24, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of violating a city ordinance regarding opening containers, and violating a city ordinance regarding weapons last Thursday around 10:20 a.m.
  • Officers responded to a report of a woman who was followed by a black sedan starting at a Rantoul Street business last Friday around 1 a.m. People in the car reportedly threw eggs and rocks at the woman multiple times.
  • Police responded to a report of someone knocking on a door on Simon Street last Saturday around 7 p.m. Officers found it was a food delivery person at the door.
  • Officers took a report of a skateboarder screaming on Bartlett Street last Sunday around 4 a.m. Police spoke to the skateboarder, who denied any wrongdoing, and told him to go in for the night.
  • Joseph Louis, 20, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace last Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. after police responded to a report of a man on a Cabot Street roof acting strangely. Police arrested Louis again on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. on the same charges.
  • Someone reported finding cigarette butts on the windowsill of their Laurel Street home last Wednesday afternoon, but noted that no one in the family smokes cigarettes.
