Small Fire Reported at Beverly Golf and Tennis Club

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department activity logs:
Monday, March 18
- Police assisted a person who locked himself out of his apartment at 2:43 a.m. on Rantoul Street.Â
- Money was reported stolen from a business at 350 Rantoul Street at 9:53 a.m.
- Threatening phone messages were reported from Robinson Road at 1:24 p.m.
- At 2:43 p.m. a gas run-off was reported at Hess on Cabot Street. The driver reportedly left without paying for $53.19 in gas.
- A hypodermic needle was found on Park Street at 2:54 p.m. Police disposed of the needle.
- An intoxicated man stumbling on the street was reported on Echo Avenue at 4:34 p.m. Police said the man was gone when they arrived.
- At 6:49 p.m. police arrested James Silva, 44, of 72 Cabot St., on charges of assault and battery.Â
- At 9 p.m. police arrested Terrence Carter, 21, of 48 Pond St., on two warrant charges.Â
- Police were called to Beacon Street at 8:56 p.m. on report of suspicious activity, including the sound of glass breaking and dogs barking. Police checked the interior and exterior of several homes in the area, but all appeared in order.
Tuesday, March 19

- A disturbance was reported on West Dane Street at 1:22 p.m. Police said one individual said he had been arguing with someone else, but would not give police the name of the other person.
- Police were called to Park Street at 6:11 p.m. on report of a possibly intoxicated stumbling around in a parking lot.Â
- Police were called to Brimbal Avenue at 8:01 p.m. on report of an intoxicated male walking in traffic.Â
Wednesday, March 20
- At 8:23 p.m. police assisted Beverly Fire Department with a small fire at the porch of the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club.Â
- A computer crime was reported on Cabot Street at 10:13 p.m. Police said the person told them he/she had sent money to Ghana, Africa as part of a scam.
- A safe was found on the side of the road on Beaver Pond Road at 11:35 a.m.
- A business on Rantoul Street was reported broken into at 12:05 p.m.
- A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on Park Street at 12:06 p.m.
- Police observed a small child in a vehicle without a car seat at 3:15 p.m. A third person came to the scene to give the person with the child the car seat. Police ensured the car seat was safely positioned, and because the officer did not observe the person driving before without a car seat, they were allowed to continue on their way.
- A gas run-off was reported on Cabot Street at 3:34 p.m.
