Squirrel Mistaken for Burgular, Rash of Car Breaks, and a Stolen Boat

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department activity logs:
Wednesday, March 6
- A dispute between two parents in the parking lot over driving in a restricted area was reported at Hannah Elementary at 10:25 a.m.Â
- Solicitors reportedly selling solar panels were reported on Longview Trail at 12:17 p.m.
- Police were called to Gateway Lane at 3:18 p.m. on report of possible gunshots coming from the woods. The located gun shots were coming from Wenham; police from the town responded.
- A possible break-in was reported on Gary Avenue at 5:25 p.m. Police determined it appeared that a squirrell had damaged the sliding door, and it was not a break-in. The home owner was notified of the damage.
- A fight was reported in the Folly Pond Road parking lot at 11:51 p.m. Police responded but the individual on scene was unwilling to provide any information on the fight, other than that his girlfriend had an argument with her ex-boyfriend.

- A vehicle break-in was reported on Elliott Street at 4:38 a.m. Reports said the vehicle's window had been smashed and a purse had been stolen.Â
- A vehicle break-in was reported on Beatrice Road at 5:36 a.m. Reports said a window was smashed and a laptop and suitcase were taken.
- A vehicle break-in was reported on Nelson Avenue at 6:16 a.m. Reports said a window was smashed and a suitcase was taken.
- A vehicle on Brimbal Avenue was reported at 7:17 a.m., where a window was smashed.
- A pick-up was reported stolen on Brimbal Avenue at 7:29 a.m.
- A vehicle break-in was reported on Oakhurst Road at 7:33 a.m.
- A vehicle was reported broken into and a laptop was reported stolen on Dodge Street at 8:26 a.m.
- A vehicle break-in was reported on Elnew Avenue at 8:34 a.m.
- A vehicle break-in was reported on Red Rock Lane at 10:27 a.m.
- At 11:47 a.m. police were called to a disturbance at Beverly High School on report of a 'student running with pants down'.
- A boat was reported stolen from Lynch Park at 4:26 p.m.
- At 8:29 p.m. a vehicle was reported broken into on Gary Avenue sometime during the previous night.
