State Representative Parisella Named Vice-chair

Parisella appointed to Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs.

State Representative Jerry Parisella has been appointed Vice-chair of the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs. Speaker Robert DeLeo announced the appointments during a Democratic caucus.

The Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs is charged with reviewing all manners related to veterans such as benefits, and oversight of benefits. In addition, the committee is also charged with reviewing all matters dealing with the federal government.

“I am honored that Speaker DeLeo has entrusted me with a leadership position that focuses on serving our nation’s veterans. Massachusetts has always been a leader in providing benefits to those that wore the uniform of the United States so I look forward to working with my colleagues and veterans organizations to ensure that our Commonwealth continues to lead the nation in providing services to the over 350,000 veterans living in Massachusetts,” Parisella said.

Parisella is also an Army Reservist, serving as a major with the 3rd Legal Operations Detachment, and has been deployed to Iraq and Bosnia during his 19-years in the military. 

Representative Parisella was also appointed to the committees on Transportation and Election Laws. He is currently serving his second term in Massachusetts House of Representatives.
