On a night where you would’ve not given a second thought to going out and keeping your eyes glued to the World Series. The Larcom Theatre in Beverly Massachusetts was up and running with the current show A Couple of Bhagaards. The show written by Frank & Malachy McCourt and produced by Steve McGraw and Howard Platt was simply a pleasure to see. Jarlath Conroy and Howard Platt portray Frank and Malachy McCourt in a story about their lives growing up in Ireland and then traveling to the United States. In this journey they portray themselves as Children and share stories about growing up in the Catholic Church and also take you on a trip to New York where they are taught the American way of life. The acting by both Howard Platt and Jarlath Conroy is something that you sure don’t want to miss. Whether its them acting as woman or as a priest these two have a great stage chemistry and for a show with so many characters these two can make you just fall in love with everyone they play. The show which was brought to Beverly after a successful Off Broadway run is sure to be a hit with many theatre fans all across the North Shore and in Boston.
